When most people want to add muscle to look better they stick to the basics like squats and deadlifts. The problem is that you end up with a bigger version of what you started with.
A much better approach is to concentrate on "visible" muscle instead of just adding muscle over your full body. That's what the Hollywood actors do to look their best.
A recent example of this is Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman. He recently posted a photo of him doing deadlifts. Lot's of guys then pointed out that his legs were lagging behind his upper body. But since Wolverine only ever appears in jeans his legs aren't worth spending time on.
By concentrating solely on the visible muscle - his upper body - he is able to transform how he looks.
